While stationed in South Africa during the Second Boer War, the British Army introduced a jacket to its troops that was designed to be lightweight, breathable, and utilitarian. This jacket was then later repurposed and altered for civilian wear, and as the popularity of the piece exploded, it quickly cemented itself into the history of fashion as an iconic piece of clothing able to stand the test of time. This jacket of course, is the legendary Safari Jacket.

A staple piece for any explorer’s wardrobe, the Safari jacket became highly coveted by Europeans and Americans dreaming of embarking on their own African safari, so we at Sillage decided to recreate this piece for all of our fans who also dream of exploration.

Our Sillage Safari Jacket is cut in our signature wide silhouette while featuring 4 large flap pockets on the front and a beautifully branded patch placed perfectly on the upper left chest. We also made sure to keep the iconic Swiss tabs on the sleeves so that they can be rolled up with ease, along with the stand-out waist belt to make sure that all of your belongings stay secure throughout your trek. We used luxurious horn buttons for all the fastening, and of course, we topped this all off with our signature raglan sleeves for comfort, no matter what adversities may come your way.
